Default Off-site access to Sugar Open Source

I'm still learning all of the features of Sugar Open Source. Is it possible to have off-site users access our database? I don't think our server is set-up to handle networking at this time. Is Open Source strickly an on-site program or is it hosted? Thanks!

Yes, you can have remote users access it. Providing that access is more a function of your network setup than Sugar though. You'll likely need to talk to your network administrator to set it up.

As for the on site vs. hosted, it is really personal choice more than anything else. Some folks feel comfortable taking on the responsibility of maintaining the system themselves, so they'll do it on premise, while others prefer to let others worry about the server's maintenance and opt for the hosted model. The version of Sugar used is irrelevant to the question.

Thank you! I'll let our IT guy know and see how he would like to proceed.
