I have been experiencing problems with the email on this installation bothe incoming and outgoing for some months now. The program used to be able to send out emails notifying a user that a task has been assigned but it doesn't even do that now. I have installed a test site on the same server from scratch and followed the upgrade paths to 4.0.1 and am able to get the email to work for incoming and outgoing. When I import the data from my production database though, the email function stops working. I am conducting further testing but this leads me to believe that I have a problem in my email settings on my production database that is causing the issue. I have tried setting everything the same as on the test platform and it still will not work. What I would like to know from the Sugar Experts, if I were to import the data again to the test system, is there an email table in particular that I can avoid importing to see if that will solve the problem and if so am I likely to cause other issues elsewhere in the application?
