    Default open access to accounts

I want my users to see all accounts/details if they search for them.

I've created a new role and put all users in that role, selected "all" for List and View for Accounts and Notes (those are the main fields I need my users to be able to see all of). They still can't see accounts that are assigned to anyone else. Is there something I'm missing?

    Thanks!

You have the Pro version yes?

With the List and View set to ALL - this allows them to List and View all accounts that they would have access to determined by the assigned to and Teams.

If you have Team assigned to Accounts, then the members of that team will view the Account but members of other Teams will not see the Account.

To allow every user in the CRM to Access the Accounts and Notes, then you will have to Mass Update all Accounts and assigned then the Global Team same as the Notes.

    Yes, we're using Pro.
I had considered this solution, but they use the team field to designate what regional market an account is in. Could I duplicate this functionality without changing to global team by adding the users to these market teams?

Your using the TEam Security as a means to select what region an Account is in and not for security purposes.

You could add all users to all Teams and that would solve you issue, but that is not the reason for the Team Security.

You could also set all accounts to Global and create a custom field where the users can select what region the Account is in.

Thanks, Chris! one last question (since I just inherited management of this and know nothing about Sugar), where would I go to create this new field and what's the easiest way to populate it?

Have a look at the Admin Manual,

In studio you will find all the options you require.

I guess a Dropdown would be the best approah and have teh dropdoan contain the regional areas, then the users can only select the ones you allow and they will not make typos errors
