    Default Opening attachments

I attach .txt files to most of my Leads.
It usta be that clicking on the little paperclip would open them.
    Now, they just download.
What's up? Is there a setting?

    Hello,

this is probably a setting on your computer that needs to be changed (generally a checkbox in the download window where you either auto open or save)

The problem is that the Notes module is reporting a filetype of MP3 on attached text files.
When I change my settings to "Always Ask" for MP3, then I get "can't open required helper does not exist" - not unreasonable, since opening an MP3 with nedit doesn't make much sense

FYI: I've tried attchmnts of other types - .pdf, .doc, ... ALL are reported as type MP3

How do we fix this? So that attachment filetypes are reported correctly?

Mmm intersting as your symptoms might be similar to those that I am experiencing.
Which browser are you using ?

I am working on a problem with inbound email attachments that get either corrputed or mixed up in the Sugar Cache. It happens maybe 20% of the time. But one of the symptoms is that a Jpeg or an Excel spreadsheet will be seen by the browser as a PDF, but when it tries to open it it fails with an error similar to yours.

Do you also think you could run the Diagnostics from the Admin panel and attach your phpinfo file. Just see if we are running similar setups

    Thanks

I did some more research on this in the Bug Tracker and came across this Bug. With some Patching info. I have implemented it on our system, and wait to see whether this corrects the issue.
