Opportunities - different opportunities, different data

The company that I am implementing sugar CRM open source for has a set number of types of opportunities. Each type of opportunity has a set (but different per opportunity) of data associated with it. How can I from an administrative level setup opportunities that will gather the data that I need?

Unfortunately you can't develop it using by admin panel.
You have to develop your own code

2 dropdown boxes
new database table
and javascript functionality at client side.

We are new to Sugar and are trying to develop it for use in Real Estate. We use the leads module to capture all primary date (web enquiries, telephone calls etc) and then assign them USERS. When a user qualifies the lead and wants to CONVERT it, they have to enter an OPPORTUNITY NAME. Is it possible to change this from a FREE Text entry to a drop down list? I have read through the documentation and have been looking at the Studio module, but cannot see a way of changing the type of data entry for this particluar field. Any help greatly appreciate. Karl
