Hi. I'm new to SugarCRM and have been very impressed so far with what I have found in the system.
Before I invest a significant time and political goodwill in getting our sales team to use it, let me explain how we think about opportunities and see if anyone has implemented something like this or could point me to an appropriate module or similar:
We use products as a concept and any opportunity is comprised of number of units of product multiplied by price. I have seen there are a number of product modules out there and I'm currently trying out a few things on those.
However, our sales, when they close, will give rise to x products shipping in month 1 after closing, x' in month 2, x'' in month 3, x''' in month 4 etc. I would like to capture that in terms of timing so that the opportunities list reflects accurately our sales pipeline with dates, expected revenues by month etc.
I would ideally like to see an opportunity screen that has a drop down for the product and then up to 12 boxes into which the expected volume of the product in the month of close and each future month thereafter can be input. The opportunity value would then reflect the product volume for each month multiplied by the stored price.
Has anyone implemented anything like this and, if so, could they point me in the right direction?
