Opportunities: Opportunity Account and Expected Close Date make them optional

I need to change the Opportunity Account to be not required and remove the Required attribute for the Expected Close Date.

Can someone provide some information about how to do this...

custom/Extension/modules/Opportunities/Ext/Varderfs/[filename].php
