Opportunity Default Currency

Hi All,

Anyone got any idea why opportunity would stop picking up the user's default currency when a new opportunity is created? Presumably if my base currency is USD and my default user currency is GBP it should pickup GBP as my default when I create a new opportunity? Sugar version is 5.2.0k.

I could imagine, the simplest way to do that is a logic hook before_save of the opportunity, which always sets the currency field of the opportunity to the users currency if the id of the opportuniy is not yet set.

If the id is set, it does nothing.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was just trying to understand really whether the opportunity should default on first create to show the user's default currency. At the moment it defaults to the base currency. It strikes me that if you are a multi-national organisation then users working in Euros would probably only ever work in Euros.....despite the fact that the organisation as a whole might report in USD.

I agree with you, I think this is a bug. The opportunity amounts do show in the user's default currency in the list view, but the currency does not auto default to their preferred currency in the edit view. Looks like there have been a few bugs logged with Sugar about this, and it appears this is resolved what will be the 6.0 release (check out Bug 33134)
