I only run email campaigns have just recently noticed that even though
certain targets are correctly registered as having opted out they continue
to receive emails from subsequent campaigns.
What's going on ?

so ... when you view the contact in the contact module ... the email address is shown as having been opted out?

What happens if you add a suppression list containing all the opted out Contacts? I know you shouldn't have to do it ..

yep, not a bad idea
I was working on a similar approach
But I first have to re attribute an existing field, in order to allow the detection of these opted-out recipients
since you can't select the original opted-out field in the list views.
I guess this is as best as it will get,
