    Default Organize 100 custom fields

We've just installed Sugar CRM and my end users have aprox. 100 custom fields that they would like added to an account.

What is the best way to organize this many fields?

Is it possible to have sub-tabs underneath the account main form to show a subset of these fields?

    Thank you

    Hello,

With this many fields, you definitely want to organize them in a way that it will be easy to fill out and view by the end user. Subtabs are possible, but require custom coding. Another option is to have main fields displayed by default, and the remaining ones are hidden, with a link like 'more details' which will open up to display more of the fields in a window below. We have done both of these options for a few of our clients, if it is something you are interested in, please contact Ray Stoeckicht at rays@intelestream.net for more information.

I too have several fields. Here is what I did:

Drop Down Fields: A system drop down would have a name like dropdown1_dom. To distinguish beteween custom and system fields, I added the name of the module the file is located at the beginning of my field name, along with the letters cstm at the end. Therefore, i would name a field something like accounts_dropdown1.cstm (for the drop down values) and dropdown1_c for the field name.

Note: I didnt add the module name in the name of the field (dropdown1_c) because it appears to reside in its corresponding module group... Just a hint. Hope it helps.

    Hi rgtft

You can organize these field in different panels and you can display/hide such panel according to a dropdown field. This way you can make your Account layout cleaner.
Have a look at this thread.

This will be easily accomplished using the next version of this package, in test stage and to be released this weekend.
