OS modified migrating to commercial version?/ anyone using triggers?

i've made quite a few mods to the fields on the OS version, but we are now considering the commercial version for its triggers. question:
1. Does anyone have good experience with those triggers? We'd basically be using it just to keep opportunities from getting getting missed to followup.
2. Would I have to reconfigure all the panel/subpanel fields I've changed in the OS version if I upgraded?
