Here is a summary of the problems we experiencing with sending outgoing mail from SugarCRM.

The core of the problem seems that only the ‘Admin’ user account is able to send e-mail. Any other user that tries to send e-mail (with the identical settings to the ‘Admin’ user) receives an error. Every other account, even those designated as admins,receive an error, and the mail is never delivered. S That server (Exchange) is no errors, and the emails do not appear to be reaching it. We have created several accounts from scratch or by duplicating the existing accounts, and have printed account settings from the admin account to audit the settings of the remaining accounts, but although all of the settings are the same, no joy.

We have not been able to find anything on the Exchange side (ie no errors, and no evidence that the emails are ever reaching the server).

Here is the relevant lines from the SugarCRM logfile:

The environment is:

• SugarCRM Version 4.5.1e
• Windows Server 2003
• IIS 6
• PHP 5.2.1
• SQL Server 2005
• Outgoing e-mail using SMTP
• Mailserver MS Exchange 2003

What we cannot determine is why the Admin User can connect to (the same) SMTP host without problems and other users can not. As far as Exchange is concerned it would be no difference as the ‘Admin’ user exists only within the SugarCRM application. This seems more likely to be a problem at the application level rather than the Infrastructure.

Any insight into this issue, or recommendations as to any other options we have to troubleshoot the issue, would be greatly appreciated.
