    Unhappy outgoing email error

    Hi All,
    I am a new user to sugar, I got following error while sending an email from my account in sugar, working on (Version 5.5.2 (Build 1224)
    " Error emailing:The outbound mail server selected for the mail account you are using is invalid. Check the settings or select a different mail server for the mail account"

    Hi neel1154!

    You should set right settings in the Admin panel!
    Please, go to the Admin->Email Settings and set the email settings (SMTP Mail Server, SMTP Authentication and other).
    And after it try to send the email message.

    I have set the out going and incoming settings like smtp.gmail.com and ssl and those ports to 465, but still does not work.

    I'm struggling with this as well. I'm running sugar5.5.4 Community on my Windoze XP desktop.

    No matter what I use in the admin settings - including Gmail - I get the message that message was sent, but it never arrives.

    I'm using my own Linux server for the SMTP and use the exact same settings in sugar as the one I use for all my other emails (which work properly BTW).

    Before I can deploy sugar, this e-mail issue needs to be solved.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Hello Sugar team,

    I hope you can help us with this.

    We’re having what appears to be a common problem integrating the Sugar email client with Google Mail. I have seen this error in many forum threads.

    The Sugar people always say something about a bad configuration, admin section, etc, but nobody gets or reports a resolution. I have read all the logs and forums about this issue, I have seen this problem in old versions and I found a forum discussion thread talking about the same problem in version 6 beta.

    I tested the configuration in two different machines, with different configurations, and Operating Systems, and it doesn't work at all. With other email servers, it works perfectly, but with Gmail it doesn't.

    If you need more specific information please let me know, but I see this is a general error somewhere in Sugar, o matter what version, or system I use. I configured the same Gmail account so synch with Outlook, as another thread recommend, and it works. On the same machine I configured Outlook, I installed Sugar, and nothing...

    Could it be a problem with PHP? Or with a GMAIL configuration? (despite it working on Outlook)

    I finally found the solution for my e-mail woes.

    When I first entered my email account name, I used caps in part of it to make it easier to read. This has worked for me in the past, but it appears not to work in Sugar. Yesterday, after a day of trying, I couldn't get sugar to accept the account name using all lower case. This afternoon I thought I'd give it one more stab and I was able to change to all lower case. Now all works well.

    Has anyone been able to fix this?

    We're running v 5.5.2 (Build 1224) on our own server, but use Google Apps for our email.

    So far we're able to download and manage our inbound email no problem, but cannot get the oubound to work. We've studied and applied all the fixes and tips posted inthis forum. Have tried all permutations of configuration options (servers, ports) in both user email settings and Admin settings. Even tried different domains.

    Did test instals in Linux and Windows to no avail.

    I know that we're configuring it right because we get it to work through Outlook and with email hosted through Network Solutions. The issue only comes up "against" Gmail.

    Other than this issue, our client is VERY happy with Sugar, but there's no way they'd ever consider going from CE to Pro without working this out...

    Yes, we are having the exact same issue with 6.0.0. Gmail setup (auto and manual) is nonresponsive. This is unacceptable.

    I'm now having issues in CE 6 with sending emails. The messages go out OK, but I get the following error on screen every time.

    I have no idea where $contracts comes from. I don't use this field and it's now where in any emails or templates.
