Outlook crashes on mailouts, will Sugar?

Hi folks, Every time I send an email with Outlook 07 (hosted MS Exchange server) doing an email merge via MS Word, everything freezes. I can get 100 names out before it all goes pear-shaped and I have to restart Office.

The Exchang help desk says this is because mail servers are designed to block spam so any message going to more than 80 addresses will be slowed down, which is causing my system to freeze. They tell me that I need to purchase a product like Promotions Manager, which has a piece of code that tells mail servers I am not spamming.

I've used SugarCube in the past but recently had to reinstall Windows. Before I also reinstall Sugar, I thought I'd ask: Does Sugarcube also have this ability to circumvent this anti-spam thing? I realise there's Outlook compatibility but don't know if the crashing thing will still be an issue.

It sounds as if it's policies on exchange server that is restricitng your ability to mass email.

You can set SugarCRM Campaigns to send in blocks of 50 (for instance) ... this should help comply with the Exchange server policy

Thanks for replying. Do you mean that Sugar can automatically break a mailing list down into 50 address blocks? Or would I need to hit the send button manually 10 times for a 500 name mailout?

Sugar can do this. Go to Admin -> Configure Campaign Email Settings and change the "number of emails sent per batch" entry to whatever you want.
