Default Outlook plugin and Active Directory trouble

I am using SugarCE 6.3.1 running on CentOS 6. We will be moving to Sugar Pro asap and one of many advantages in doing so is being able to use the Outlook plugin. I have the 30 day trial and cannot get it to work for my Active Directory users. It's a tough sell if I can't get this working.

I have it installed on Outlook 2007. Whenever a user attempts to login using AD credentials, they get an error. In the Sugar logs, I see the following:
Tue Jan 17 14:31:06 2012 [9920][-none-][FATAL] SECURITY: failed attempted login for ehager using SOAP api

If the user has a Sugar user account, then he/she can login without any issues.

All Active Directory users and Sugar users can login just fine through the web interface.

Is there a configuration I am missing to get this working?

    Any help will be appreciated!

Did you set the Encryption Key in the LDAP Settings?

    Christian,
Thanks so much for the reply. I have talked to our AD admin and he is confused as to why an encryption key needs to be entered. Here is how I understand it to work...The Outlook plugin is a SOAP API. When you configure the plugin to use the SugarCRM and test, the credentials are passed to the Sugar server who then passes it to the AD server. Just as if you are logging on to the web portal. I guess I'm confused why Sugar would now need an encryption key just to use the Outlook plugin. I do see it the logs a SOAP error so it does sound like there is a connection to the Sugar server as opposed to a connection to the AD server.

In the meantime, I am not getting the encryption key from our network admin's unless I can give them a clear explanation as to what is happening.

Do you have the extra details I'm looking for? If so, please pass them along. I will certainly appreciate any help I can get.

    Thanks,
    Erin
