Outlook plugin + custom modules

Hi,

I see that the outlook plugin allows you to assign emails to the different modules within Sugar. How does this work when you have created custom modules? Do they automatically appear in the selections within the Outlook plugin? Or is there something you have to do to add them there?

Anyone have any insight into this?? I want to know if the plugin will work with my custom modules before I purchase it.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that you can add your new module to work with the Outlook plugin. The code for the plugin is not open, so you cannot modify it to add you new module.

I know this answer is much too late for the person who asked it but maybe it will help someone else. I just encountered this situation for our organization yesterday and was very disappointed to find out that the Sugar Outlook plugin does not allow archiving emails to custom modules. I confirmed this with Sugar, although they did add my request to an open features request log already asking for this feature so hopefully it'll come soon. In the meantime, I did find Opacus which has a similar plug-in that does allow syncing with custom modules and it is only $20 annual per license.

This seems to be wrong, I mean the whole point of Sugar is to customize it. Hopefully this is changed soon.

Grinmark makes a plug in as well that can be customized to work with custom modules (SugarForge: GrinMark MS Office Addin for SugarCRM: Project Info) but it's $60 / user /year.
