Outlook Plugin LDAP Authentication

Hi Everyone,

We tried out the Outlook plugin and we have noticed that LDAP authenticated users do not work.
I'm assuming this is because LDAP expects passwords in plaintext and the OL plugin sends them hashed.

I read somewhere on the forum you can use SOAP authentication to get around it..
We are using Active Directory and are unsure of how to set this up using it, unless anyone has any other ideas.

The reason for using the LDAP authentication is to keep all the usernames and passwords central as they are changed every 3 months for security purposes.

i´m not sure how but in the admin settings you can have a soap password and in outlook plugin in advanced settings you have LDAP auth. there you can add the password for SOAP. My Server Admin have done it.

Ah ok, Only other thing I'm not sure about at the moment is how to get the SOAP password from Active Directory.
