    Default Outlook sync help

Hello. I'm a new user of the free open source version of Sugar. The only thing I'm struggling with at this point is syncing with MS Outlook. From what I understand, I can only get the actual Outlook plugin with the paid version of Sugar. Is that correct? So, from what I understand, I need to have my email come into Sugar and send from Sugar. I setup my POP3 email settings and Sugar verified them as correct. I checked to have the email stay on the server. I have the scheduler set to check the mailbox every minute. However, no email ever comes in. What am I missing?

What is the best way to accomplish syncronization with Outlook using the free OS version of Sugar?

Hi directtech, actually the Sugar Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook is available also for Sugar Open Source users as part of the Sugar Network package of plug-ins, Support and Sugar University credits.

The Plug-in allows you to archive emails to Sugar Account, Contacts and other objects. It also allows you to sync Contacts, Tasks, and Calendar items between Outlook and Sugar.

As for the email issue, check the Scheduler to make sure the job completed successfully.

Okay, I see that now. I can get the plugin, but I have to pay for it That would be fine but I'm a little hesitant as I've seen so many posts here about the plugin not working well. Guess I could try the trial version first.

As far as the scheduled item goes, it does not show as having ever run yet. I saw that I needed to setup the cron job which I missed earlier. I have set that up exactly as it shows in Sugar and I'm still not seeing the schedulers run at all. Any ideas?

Well, we don't claim that our software is perfect but there are many, many users who don't complain about the Plug-in ... the silent majority, so to speak.

You should try the 30-day free trial.

On the cron job, are you sure it's executing now? Do you see instancces where the Scheduler has run?
