Paste images into Email

The sugar email client doesn't seem to allow pasting images from the clipboard.
There is an option to insert images, but it needs a URL to pick it up from.
Is there any work around solution to this?

(I am using the community edition v5.2)

Dear All,

Found something in the suagr user guide (page 71) - how to embed an image.

Seems like you have to first save it on a public server! Isn't there any other easier option?

Embedding has stopped working alltogether in 5.1c. I need to check the bug list whether there is anything already.

In previous versions you could embed an image by uploading it (left bottom corner of the email template in this case) and then inserting it by pressing the paper clip.
The function still works but the picture doesn't show when sending the mail. You can easily check that by saving and calling up again the template - no picture anymore.

Also funny - I tried it with Sugar documents rather than my local disk - here Sugar says it must be a picture and refuses to continue. But more picture than jpg isn't possible I think.

Workaround: Put a link in your email - this works always provided the recipient allows images to be shown (something that wouldn't matter with embedded and encoded images - that's why one wants to embed rather than link).

Unfortunately, since 5.2 was just released, we do not currently have a patch fix for this release at this time.

Wow, selling patches for $10 a piece to fix stuff that SugarCRM development has broken. I'm not sure how closely you monitor this forum SugarCRM but this sure doesn't seem like a good precedent that you should allow to grow...

No digs on Intelestream but this sure doesn't help the professional status of the product.

Here's the next new business model: offer a regression testing service that tells subscribed clients when it's safe to upgrade to a new release level. Anyone in with me on that one? ;-)
