Patch 4.5.0e: send email errors

I updated yesterday to theabove mentioned version ofsugarcrm.
Since them the send error functions gives me the messages as depicted underneath. The inbound seems to work.
I checked the parameters and there is no change to them. Are there others with the same problem?

No idea on where I should start checking?
In parallel I work with THunderbird. I re-checked parameters in Thunderbird and Sugar and they ar eexactly the same.
I set hte mode DEBUG for logging. There is the output. Any ideas ?

Hi,

We have migrated our own system to 4.5.0e and have had no problems sending Emails.

We do seem to have a problem syncing meetings from Sugar to Outlook, other way works. Apart from the Calls & Meeting bug for which there is a fix available, this part of Email is woring for us (other issues at a more deatiled level, when replying, deleting etc.)

Can I getr any hints on where to start lookng?
Other users on sugar work with not problem.
I now send the emails with thunderbird using exactly the same settings as I am using in sugar and there is no problem.
So what is preventing sugar from sending emails?

When you configure Inbound Email settings, you can Test Settings. What are your results (user / group...) ?

I noticed this kind of problem when you upgrade and forget to stop the scheduled Inbound Email job before upgrading.

Your POP3 test connection was successful.

The inbound mail works. WhatI cannot do is sending.
Is there a way to the the SMTP server?

From the command line:
[miju@lap01 ~]$ telnet <mySMTP server>

SCO OpenServer(TM) Release 5 (central.interno.com) (ttyp31)

I set
"Mail transfer agent " = SMTP
SMTP Server = <mySMTP server> (same value as in thunderbird)
SMTP Port = 25 (same value as in thunderbird)
Use SMTP Authentication? = <not checked> (in thunderbird "Use secure connections = No")

In thunderbird it works but in sugar not anymore....

Do you have the possibility to try using another SMTP server (better running on different operating system than SCO OS)?

No unfortunately I cannot, but I have made an observation.
I just tried to send an email with 2 addresses; to: and BCC and it caused an error. I cheched several times both addresses and they were correct. I then took BCC out and send this email solely to "To:" and it went through.
I believe having seen this behaviour more than once.

Does this make any sense?

I also have some problems with some emails to be sent.
I've observed that all the email addresses containing "-" or "_" character have errros on seding.

Does someone has a solution to this problem?
