Default Patch 4.5.0f breaks email replies?

Plain text email replies worked fine until I updated from patch E to F. Now when replying to a email, all that is sent is:

    "Begin forwarded message:"
    <and the original email text>

The new text is lost and it also does not show up in "Sent Emails" (the new email does appear but the new reply text is missing).

"Compose email" works fine, and I am only using plain text emails (HTML never worked; it sends blank emails and the editor shows a read-only home page).

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
"Begin forwarded message" seems suspicious to me: which php file is run when a user clicks on the Reply button?

    To reproduce:
    1) open the email from the inbox
    2) Click on Reply
    3) Type some response and send the mesage
-->the response is not part of the sent email.

    Thanks,

    Francis

Unhappy Re: Patch F broke email replies

I see a similar issue, but it only appears to occur when I reply to e-mails that were received from Outlook in Rich Text mode. If I reply in HTML mode, I see the following in the HTML edit box:

    Begin forwarded message:

    > From: me_outlook@me.com
    > Date Sent:
    > To: me_sugar@me.com
    > Subject: Rich Text test
    >
    >

If I click "Edit Plain Text" below, I see the rest of the message:

    > Testing in Rich Text format.
    >
    > Thank you,
    >

E-mails in HTML format appear to work fine.

In my case the original email format has no effect: replies to Outlook HTML emails are still missing the new reply text, same a plain text emails.

patch f still has same errors when sending plain emails, ie it doesn't withhold the un-edited html version, and as email clients display that in preference it seems like the text isn't sent.

I've edited the editview.html to prevent users sending plain text, but that's a nasty bodge :-(

In my case HTML never worked: all I see is the non-editable home page of my domain and there is no way to type anything.

Do you have any idea how to resolve that one?

Thumbs down Re: Patch F broke email replies

    Francis,

I'm afraid not at the moment. The email working so badly is the main reason I've been unable to push the CRM throughout our company, and we've actually reduced the number of users of the system. I'm looking for a solution now because if I leave it as it is the remaining users will cease using it too and that will be the end of sugar CRM within our company :-(

I'll let you know if I get anywhere.

Can anyone else say if it's working or not for them? From the forums, it seems that the current release just doesn't work, in which case Sugar - can we have a patch that fixes it please?

    Thanks Aggy.

Do you or anyone else know if Sugar Pro also has these email issues?
