permissions (on Opportunity)

Hello,

I am trying to solve a permission problem, and i'm not yet sure which is the best way. Give me your thoughts on the following:

SugarCRM Proffessional 5.5.1
------------------------------
Salesman S1 (from team T1) has opportunity O1 assigned to him.
Salesman S2 (from team T2) wants to be able to see opportunity O1 in search and when listing opportunities + detail view.
Salesman S2 should not be able to edit or delete the O1 opportunity.


Please share your knowledge on this. Thanks!

You believe you need to configure Roles rather than Teams to accomplish such requirement.
If S1 and S2 does not share the same team it is not possible to S2 access S1 Opportunities, but you can configure that though Roles.

Hi all,

I have a similar issue I guess.

SugarCRM Proffessional 6.0
------------------------------
Salesman S1 (from team HQ) has opportunity O1 assigned to him.
Salesman S2 (from team HQ) can already see all of S1 opportunities when listing opportunities + detail view but wants to be able to edit just S1's opportunities, no other salesman's opportunities.
No other salesmen should be able to edit anything but what they own.

Any thoughts?
