I've been using SugarCRM 4.2.1 for a few months and were generally quite happy with it.
When SugarCRM 4.5 were launched, I was really happy and applied the upgrade straight away, and that's when my nightmare begins. I don't want to repeat the list of problems/bugs that have been brought up by others before... anyway, I just want to point out 2 of the major problems that still persist (or is it only in my system?).
I've updated from 4.5c to 4.5f to 4.5h now, and it seems that these 2 problems still persist and seems that nobody or at least very fewl people mention about it, and the problems are:
1) DOCUMENTS --> Attachment Not Found.
When I create New Documents, and attach a file as attachment, the file cannot be downloaded. If I click on the "Download File" link, it will shows File Not Found, and states that the URL/sugarcrm/dbcb5499-d01e-ca89-9141-45b96ec7bf87 was not found on this server. Apparently the "Download File" link does not apoint to the correct file name.
I am not sure whether the attached file actualled got uploaded, and it's just the download link screwed-up.... Or perhaps the attached file was not uploaded afterall.
- I tried on both IE and Firefox and both showed the same problem.
- I tried uploading different file type (PDF, JPEG, BMP, TXT, etc...) and it didn't make any difference.
- I tried using different user to create the New Document with Attachment, and all faced the same problem.
- The file size that I uploaded is very small (less than 1mb), so I don't think it has anything to do with the Upload Size Limit (as some others previously suggested).
Have you encountered the same/similar problem before?
What should I do now to solve the problem?
2) LEADS -- Blank Screen Problem.
If I create a new lead for myself, I can't assign to others anymore. Whenever I assign it to other users, I will get a BLANK PAGE when I save the changes. And if I go back to the LEAD LIST again, the change was not saved, so the leads is still assigned to me. The same problem occurs if I create a new lead and assign it straight away to others, it won't be saved. Instead, I will just get the BLANK PAGE>
I went through the HELP forum, and found that one of the poster has found out a solution to this problem , and that is to put a "//" in front of the $notify_mail->prepForOutbound() line in the SugarBean.php file.
I am not sure what side effects or new problem it will create by putting the "//" in front of the line, but at least it solved the problem of BLANK PAGE.
I encountered the BLANK PAGE problem in 4.5c, and solved it by using the method suggested above. When I updated to 4.5f, I got back the same problem again, and I got to serched the SugarBean.php file again and put the "//" again to solve the problem. Now I just updated to 4.5h and you know what.... the problem come back again... I am wondering whether this BLANK PAGE problem only happen to a few of us, and that's why the developer didn't treat this as a bug and thus did not solve it in the previous few updates.
Anyway, I would like to know whether this is a real bug, or maybe I am having some other wrong setting which caused this problem to occur? If this is a real bug, I hope the developer in reading can kindly take note when releasing the next update.
