    Default PHP Warning: Smarty::fetch error

    I have recently installed SugarCRM 5.0.c Community Edition onto my Windows 2000 Server, using IIS. The install went flawlessly (as Windows installs go), and I have been looking ot over for a couple of days now. I am gettting an error at the bottom of some pages in the use of the product. The error is sporadic. I will see it on one visit to, for instance, the Activities page, and the next time I visit that page, it is not there. The message is (in its entirety) as follows:

    PHP Warning: Smarty::fetch(cache/smarty/templates_c\%%EC^ECC^ECCE85BC%%SearchForm_basic_se arch.tpl.php) [function.fetch]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include\Smarty\Smarty. class.php on line 1265 PHP Warning: Smarty::fetch() [function.include]: Failed opening 'cache/smarty/templates_c\%%EC^ECC^ECCE85BC%%SearchForm_basic_se arch.tpl.php' for inclusion (include_path='c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include/..;.;C:\php5\pear') in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include\Smarty\Smarty. class.php on line 1265 PHP Warning: Smarty::fetch(cache/smarty/templates_c\%%AE^AE2^AE2E0041%%SearchFormHeader.tp l.php) [function.fetch]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include\Smarty\Smarty. class.php on line 1265 PHP Warning: Smarty::fetch() [function.include]: Failed opening 'cache/smarty/templates_c\%%AE^AE2^AE2E0041%%SearchFormHeader.tp l.php' for inclusion (include_path='c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include/..;.;C:\php5\pear') in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include\Smarty\Smarty. class.php on line 1265 PHP Warning: Smarty::fetch(cache/smarty/templates_c\%%57^579^579D3490%%SearchFormFooter.tp l.php) [function.fetch]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include\Smarty\Smarty. class.php on line 1265 PHP Warning: Smarty::fetch() [function.include]: Failed opening 'cache/smarty/templates_c\%%57^579^579D3490%%SearchFormFooter.tp l.php' for inclusion (include_path='c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include/..;.;C:\php5\pear') in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SugarCRM\include\Smarty\Smarty. class.php on line 1265

    I have checked the permissions on the file structure and all is well. I did notice that the error says it is looking in the "C:\php5\pear" folder, and my PHP is installed in the "C:\PHP" folder. I copied that folder and its contents and renamed it the way sugarCRM is looking for it, but I still get the errors.

    I would appreciate any help I could get.

    Hi, all.

    Do the following:
    1. Grant write access to sugarcrm folder;
    2. Go to Admin -> Repair -> Quick Repair and Rebuild
    This should work.

    Andre,

    Thank you for your reply. I have done as you said, and was surprised to find tht the SugarCRM folder had not already been given the proper permissions. I guess I had not remembered to do that after I had replaced the original SugarCRM 4.5.x folder, even though I had set the permissions on the other folders within the SugarCRM folder. (Duh!) I cannot seem to test the pages, as I am loggd in at this minute via a VPN. I will test on Monday when I am back to work.

    SugarCRMNewbie,

    Give his solution a try. If your permissions are not correct, all sorts of odd things can happen.

    Andre,

    I checked today, and the Smarty Fetch error is still present, albeit in smaller doses. It now occurs only in a couple of pages (so far), and not every time I visit the page. Since I have made the entire folder structure of Sugar CRM writable (by inheritance), what is the next step?
