Default POP Email Retrieval and Group Mail box.

I have been setting up our system and cannot get the system to retrieve POP email from an ouside server. Set up appears to be correct in both user and admin sections - set up to retrieve every 1 minute.

Do you get any mail if you use the "check mail" button?
The auto "check mail" relys on a chron tab (or a scheduled bat file in Windows) in order to run.

I don't get it..........?? I'm asking Sugar server to go out and grab pop email and bring it in. What does this have to do with windows settings on my machine? Thanks, HCG

If you want the mail to be checked automatically every 1 minute, you'll need to set up a scheduled event on the server.
However, if you have the pop settings right, you can still check the mail by clicking the "check mail" button under the email tab.

Sugar Server says it is set up for 1 minute retrieval in scheduled events in Admin. The only thing the check email buttons do that I can see is allow you to edit the settings for the pop email accouts, rather than command the system to go get it. I'll look it over again. Thanks, HCG

    That's wierd.
Are you hosting Sugar on your own server, or are you using it through Sugar CRM's demo site?

Instructions say that all these emails got to the group mail box and that users should bring them in with the button that retrieves group email...... but the group email box is apparently empty because it indicates that there is nothing to bring in. And I can't find a way to access the group email account either from any user or an admin ID. HCG

    Daniel,

You are correct - I got to the group email box form the left hand links menu on the personal mail box and had to check the check mail box to retrieve mail. I have no clue why Sugar's demo server won't run the processes it's set up for.

    Thanks,

    HCG
