pop3 under version 5.5.4

Hi,

I know that pop3 isn´t supported anymore!
But, nevertheless I´ve inserted the following lines in "config_override.php":

$sugar_config['allow_pop_inbound'] = true

In the email-config-area pop3 is available, connection-test was successful, but Sugar is not able to fetch emails via pop3 from an external mailserver!

Sugar Community-Edition: 5.5.4
Apache/2.0.59
Windows 7 (Win32)
PHP/5.2.5
MySql (0.6 ?)

Is there anything more to configure?

Some ideas?
