Default populate lead/contact custom fields from the existing account custom fields

    Hello,

I want to limit the custom fields of the leads/contacts to those defined in the Account if the account already exists.

I've noticed that if I got the same custom fields in the leads, contacts and Accounts, when I convert a new lead and create a new contact and new account the custom fields goes correctly through the different modules and populate the custom fields of the new contact and new account.

I'd like to do something a little different :
If I choose to convert a lead and I select in the "Related Record" block an existing account, the custom fields for the new contact will be based on the account custom fields, and not from the lead...

Where can I make this modification ? Is there any configuration file to edit ? Or do i have to code something in the core code ? (hope not hope not hope not ! )

Thanks for any advice about this.

Default Re: populate lead/contact custom fields from an existing account

Ok, I got a partial answer in this post of the forum :
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4105

It allows me to "link" the custom fields of a module to another one, by updating the fields in the DB at save time.

Some more modification and I'll be set !
