Possible bug: Create contact quickcreate not saving from accounts

I just tried to use the Contact quickcreate form from an account and when I hit the Save button, my screen refreshed the account but the new contact wasn't listed! I checked the DB and it wasn't there either. It looked like it worked, but didn't do it! I then used the Full Form button and that created the contact fine.

Is this a bug?

Or is it just some mis-config on my studio edited Accounts module (I haven't done any file level editing or anything)?

What version of Sugar do you use? For example under my Sugar 5.0 this logic works fine.

Anyway did you create any new custom required fields?

Sorry, been posting a bit and forgot to put my version this time. 5.0a. I've removed a few default fields but didn't add anything yet. I've tried running a 'quick repair and rebuild' and a bunch of the other repair options in admin but none fixed it.

This happened to me when I was using Internet Explorer 6.0

It was not happening on another users computer and he was using Firefox so I tried and when I use Firefox it works.

Also had a problem that the "select" button for account or contact was not pulling up anything in IE... but in Firefox it worked fine. 2.0.0.11 is the version of Firefox I am using currently.

Hope it's as simple of a problem as that for you.

I'm pretty sure I was using Firefox 2.11 when it happened, but I just tried it again and it worked fine in both Firefox and IE7!

I know I tried it several times, and pretty sure it failed in both browsers when it happened. I'm glad it's fixed, but it makes me worried that my users could experience it someday and think a contact was saved and never know it wasn't (it didn't give an error or anything, but I don't think it showed the "saving" popup text in the page after hitting the button).

we're currently experiencing this, OS 5.0a, on an in house ubuntu server, on windows XP machines with both FF and ie7.

quick create from within an account doesn't work, but we can create from the full form.

Anybody have any clue what prompts this?

I think it's a bug. It happens to the quickcreate and duplicate name only. If you use full form to create, it'll have a window asking if you want to save the duplicate. While the quickcreate does not have the intermedia window thus it was not saved.
