    Possible Bug--Same Contact Assigned to Multiple Accounts, no new notes allowed on auxiliary accounts.

    Example.
    I am using Sugar to track Sales/Note Activity.

    I have an advertising agency I work with.
    “ABC Agency”.
    My contact (Abby Allen) at this agency has multiple accounts she manages.
    For Example, she manages:
    IBM
    Oracle
    Sun Microsystems
    Microsoft.

    I have created an account called “ABC Agency”.Assigned contact Abby Allen to this account

    Using the “Add Contact”--->”Select a Contact” method, (under the account view for the account)
    I have also assigned Abby Allen to
    IBM
    Oracle
    Sun Microsystems
    Microsoft

    HOWEVER, If I open the Account IBM, and try to place notes onto Abby Allen (regarding discussions with sales activity based on IBM discussions), it will not allow me to do this.
    I click on her name, and it rolls over to the “Main” Account “ABC Agency”

    Is this a bug or a F.A.D.? If it's a F.A.D., why am I allowed to add a same contact to multiple accounts?

    In SugarCRM a Contact is a person working at a company.
    If you assign this person to an other company he/she is migrated to the other company, the old realtion is set to deleted.
    So Abby Allen can only be a contact of ABC Agency or IBM or Microsoft or...

    Perhaps you should give her a user account in SugarCRM, then you can assigne accounts and contacts and activities directly to her...

    Anybody any other idea?

    Hi, kuske.

    I´m not sure that.
    The relationship between accounts and contacts is a many-to-many one.
    It can be confirmed looking at the relationship metadata.
    A customer of us wanted to assign a contact to more than one account and it worked properly.

    But I believe there is a bug related to azquire the account related to contact once Account name is shown in the DetailView and EditView.

    We should browse the code for making sure that and submit a new bug if necessary.

    I have the same problem....

    We have physicians who work for 2 to 3 companies. I also have companies with up to 15 locations....

    I need to be able to assign one person to multiple companies. Most of the contact events are logged in the Account window although some are logged under the contact. When I choose a contact from the Account window it changes the Primary Account on the Contacts page. The other Account still shows the person as a member but the Contact page shows only the last Account that chose that Contact.

    Multiple Locations for one account is also a big problem. One group has 15 locations in the Atlanta area alone...

    Sorry,

    I read the previous post and it made no sense after I wrote it... Let me restate.

    If I assign a Contact to and Account from the "Account Page", that individuals primary account on their "Contact Page" is change to the most recent Account that was used to make the assignment. The only Account under that persons "Contact Page" to show up is the most recent. I can however look at all the Accounts and the Contact shows up, It's just the Primary Account keeps getting changed the more Accounts the individual gets assigned to.
