Default Possible to merge a contract to Word?

Hi all, having experimented with sugar for various clients in the past, now years later, finally taking the plunge, moving our company from a 10 yrs extended and customized use of Salesforce to a hosted Sugar Corporate.

Our business (and many many others i presume) rely on signed contracts. So i spent a vast amount of hours to customize Sugars contracts module to mimic the fields we now have in our SF contracts module.

Only to find out that Sugar's office plugin cannot mailmerge with the Contracts module!

As a workaround Sugars Support suggests to customize the opportunities module, since that does merge. Where is the business logic here? I want to have a signed contract of what is registered in the contracts module.

Anybody that knows for a mergesolutions that works with contracts ?

I looked at the default plugin, Grinmark and CRM2Office, but they don't offer contracts merging (or i missed it)

    Hello Jan,

Is your scenario like this: you want to take personal information from a Contact (which might be associated with an Account), plus a blank Contract template, and create a document in Word?

almost. Wanting to merge the contractdetails also (terms, expiration, price, etc), Customfields added to the Contracts module.

    Jan,

we have written a Plugin where templates can be defined in the documents module as RTF files. In any module you can then select the templates that are made available and create an RTF where the fields in the RTF are populated dynamically from the module itself. Fast and easy and created nice RTFs. Similar to your requirement one of our customers is using this to create Contracts based on a custom module.

contact us at office@kinamu.com if you are interested and we can briefly demo it to you online and see if we can help you.

    regards, christian.

    Hi,

    OK - if I understand correctly -

You have many different Contracts with blank custom fields (terms, expiration, price, etc.).

And you have Contacts - customers who can sign a Contract with you.

And you (maybe?) have Quotes (specific offers of terms, expiration, price, etc, for a specific customer Contact(s) ).

And, it sounds like, you're wanting to take a Quote (terms, expiration, price) that you have offered to a customer Contact, and merge these two (Contact details, and Quote terms, etc.) into blank empty fields in the Contract.

Is this close to being right ?

Hi Chris, Sorry for the late response. Sofar have not found a solution still. The scenario is quite simple: Users create a "contract" under an account, and wish to mailmerge that to Word in order to get it signed off. No quotes come into play.

Any scenario that would allow me to create a mailmerged contract is welcome.

Hi Chris, (apology for the late response), your description is about right. I would be happy to mailmerge a quotation also.

    Do you have a solution?
