Private teams

Hello everyone,

I am contacting you again because now that all users seems to be selecting their private team for saving all their files, the company prefers that all their actions be visible for all instead.
Nothing hidden even though their supervisor can see them.

In that case, all their records have been updated to a global visible team... however that wont prevent them to keep using their private team on the future.

The question is.. if I delete a private team "intentionally" after I have emptied it...

would I be able to re-create them in case they change their minds?

In the Users Preferences you can select the Default Team as Global. This is mean that when a user creates a record the Team will be Global by default, the user will then have the change this.

You can also add custom logic that will always make the Team Global using the workflow engine.

I already had tried the first proposal, however as we know it will be up to each individual to decide which team select to archive a specific information.

If when your second proposal (workflow) , I could reduce that risk. I am good for it. I will just need to learn how... tutorials time!

Create a role, in which the field 'Teams' is 'read-only' using field level permsions. Then set Default team to Global. Assign role to user and prevent user access to his/her preferences.

you can also choose a second team for default like global in the user account. when they create a record the private team shows up and the global team is hided. So in that case they think they create it in private but they also relate it to global. if you are using version 5 it will work with multiple teams. we are using this for our chinese office because they are only allowed to look into their private team but for reporting it is much easier to have a sales team for that copuntry because we are working in 14 countries and all have country teams as default.

So, in either case, it is not recommended to move every user to one single team and delete their private teams?
what would be the consequence of delete all private teams?
