    Default Pro demo question

    Hi,

    I am demo'ing the Pro version of 4.5 and i want to test the email-to-case faciliy. I have created a new email mailbox check to my server, and the test says its fine. I have created a new scheulde to action that email checker every minute.

    However, the schedule isnt running. I'm assuming that the schedules dont run on the demo version hosted by Sugar.

    Does anyone know a way i can test this out? I want people to be able to email cases and have cases automatically created based on that email.

    Hi,

    This also works in the OS version that you can download. It does assign a case automatically if the subject line looks exactly like the field in the Email Admin section - So if if it says [Case: %1] then the system will accept [Case: 255] but not [Case:255]. Nonetheless I am almost sure that cases (at least in the OS version) will NOT be created automatically. You have to do this once (directly clicking the respective field in the email list) and then all others email will be assigned automatically.

    Im at a loss as to why they would include the ability to update a case via email, but not to create a case via email, seeing as its essentially the same code, but with an IF NOSUBJECT THEN chunk in it.

    I guess because not everything that arrives in a particular mailbox should create a case. Things like spam or like in my case where people constantly reply to an email address that explicitely says no-reply.

    Check the Forge, maybe there is something for you. The upcoming portal will also be a great help I guess and there is something like web to case. But I never checked...
