problem with on change event for relate field

Hey,

i have an account and an contact field in my modules editview.

if i select an contact the account field is filled automatically with the values of the account assigned to the selected contact.

i also added an onchange event to the account_name field to run a script in the background.

but the problem is the event is never called. if i select an contact and the values of the accoutn field are chenged nothing happens.

does anyone out ther knows how i can run an onchange event on a relate field?? or another solution for this problem??
