    Default Problem converting Leads

    Hi All,

    We're at the tail end of implementing SugarOpenSource here, and I'm running into a problem that I can't find documented anywhere.

    We've created a "salesman" role in SugarCRM that disables access to most modules. We want to keep it *really* simple for the sales guys.

    However when they convert a lead to an account or opportunity, We see the following message: "You do not have access to this area. Please contact your site administrator if you believe that you should have access."

    (Admins who have no module limitations do not see this message.)

    I've turned on debug logging, but haven't been able to figure out where this error is coming from in the logs.

    This SugarCRM instance is running on WinXPSP2. It is 4.5.1e, build 1049 - installed from the "big ball of installer" that installs apache, mysql and php.

    Does the sales person have access to the Accounts/Opportunities tabs?

    The global tab settings are all on except for: Bug Tracker, Campaigns, RSS and Time.

    Hi swinokur, nice write-up.

    Do you see the page at the end of the process, like:

    "Created Contact blah blah blah
    Created Account blah bah blah"

    Or do you not even get this?

    swinokur, I was able to repro this on a baseline version of 451e open source.

    Let me check into it some more.

    I started taking away restrictions one at a time in this order: Meetings, Calls, then Notes.

    When I removed Notes it appeared to work fine.

    Then, I created a brand new ACL and added only Notes as "Disabled" ... and it worked, too.

    So it seems to be some combo. I need to get back to it later to see what the magic combo is.

    Andy,

    Thanks very much for looking into this. I'll keep my eyes open for your reply.

    To answer your question, we don't see the "Created ..." messages.

    Also, leads remain marked as "new" instead of "converted".

    Try changing the "Access" option for Accounts, Contacts and Opportunities to "Enabled" on the Role.
