problem with email configuration

hi, im using Version 6.3.0beta5 (Build 6843) at ubuntu server

when i configure the email settings and ask for the system to send a test mail, nothing happens.
i tried to set level log do debug and nothing happens even at the sugarcrm.log

how can i understand what is wrong with my sugar?

im using the following mail config:


"From" Name: Sugar CRM
"From" Address: sugarcrm@veezor.com

Choose your Email provider: OTHER

SMTP Mail Server: * smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: * 465
Use SMTP Authentication: yes
Enable SMTP over SSL or TLS? (i tried both SSL and TLS)
Username: * sugarcrm@veezor.com
Password: * workingpasswordforsure
Allow users to use this account for outgoing email: not

Take a look at the sugarcrm.log file in the directory where you installed Sugar and look for any errors referencing SMTP.

That should yield some clues as to where the problem might be.
