    Default Problem with Import in notes

    I trying to import notes and for some reason they wont match up with my contacts. In version 4.5.1 i used put contactid equal to the contact name and imported my notes and it would match the notes with the contacts. But for some reason when i do the same thing on version 4.5.1b it wont work. it imports the notes but it doesnt pick up the contacts so the notes are matched to nothing. I was wondering was there a change made to the new version or is it a bug. Or am i doing something wrong. I would appreciate some help as it took me ages to extract all the notes from act and now i cant import them into this version and this frustating since i could do it before.

    Do you mean 4.5.1b (as in boy) or 4.5.1d (as in dog)? After looking at the code in 4.5.1d I can't see any way that the notes import matched up contact names by name and not ID, unless that function was removed. I know of a group that is writing an upgrade to several of the installers and I will find out if this functionality is in there and get a release date.

    4.5.1b as in (boy). do you think if i upgraded to 4.5.1d it would solve the problem. also by upgrading do you lose the custom work that you do. say you changed the the fields around and added rows and other stuff. do you lose all this?

    I was going through the code and the contactid is definately linking to the contact name of the contacts. So when you put contactid equal to the the contact name they should match but they wont for some reason . This definately worked before and checked it just to see and it worked in version 4.5.1.

    No, I don't because I do not see how it ever worked for you. I am working on upgraded import files that will and hope to have them out soon. But upgrading to 'd' is a good idea anyway.

    You will not lose your custom work, there is a screen during the install that shows you which files you have modified and allows you to keep your changes.

    Could you suggest away of matching up my notes with my contacts?. I only have 5 column headers in my notes. contact name, account name, datecreated, note subject, attachment. Or is it possible with only these column headers? Thanks for your help.

    Wait till this weekend when I will release the improvements to the import module. I am working nights on it this week.

    I will release it on SugarForge Saturday or Sunday.
