Problem importing contacts with 5.0.0e

I've seen some messages about problems importing accounts - in particular ones that contain a '.

Are there any known problems importing contacts? I have text files of 1000 contacts each. Many of them import perfectly. Some of them "stick" on a particular contact - i.e. the import looks like it's running, but it never gets beyond that contact. I'm trying to find what's common amongst these contacts. So far I don't see anything noteworthy.

I do find that after one of these has been running and I have ended it by closing the browser (is there a better way?), I often have TWO apache.exe's running and one of them is using almost 100% of the cpu. I terminate the task from the console of the server.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and found the secret?

I ran into import problems several times, especially with larger csv files(1000+ entries).
Import seemed to be running, but never came to an end an always stopped at a certain line number, never found out why.

Now I´m splitting them into files with 500 entries each at max, that works fine.

Well, for me and a number of other's here the problem was with accounts that have apostrophe's in the name. We had very few and just stripped them out.

That appears to work. I had one "freeze" out of 22, but after I aborted that one and checked the contacts, I found that all 500 HAD been entered. So - does it loop at the end sometimes?

Is this perhaps a memory leak problem? Why do smaller import files work better? Any ideas from the Sugar folks?
