Problem removing tabs

I just upgraded to 2.5 from 2.0.1 and when I am in the admin screen and try to hide a tab, it does not error, but it does not hide the tab either.

I have tried in both my user and the admin user.

My problem is more with the global setting available in the admin section. I can successfully hide the tabs at the user level, but I am unable to hide the tab at the global level.

Yeah ... the fix works fine. I knew it was something like that because when I looked through the DB I couldn't find any tables that looked like they held this kind of data.
