problem while creating custom fields in custom modules

I'm using sugarcrm ver 5.5.0(Build 6653) community edition.
I created a custom module with company type using module builder, but I'm not able to change anything in it. Means it does not allow me to edit labels neither is it allowing me to add custom fields.
Has anyone else faced this problem before or am I doing something wrong.
Any help will be appreciated

I'm using IIS webserver with win7. PHP 5.2.13 and mysql Server version: 5.1.46-community
I'm able to add fields to normal modules such as oppurtunity without any problem but when I add a custom field
to a custom module, it does not show in layout editors but shows in edit labels.
Moreover if I try to change the labels in the custom module, even that is not working.
