Default Problems checking email (IMAP server)

    Hi Forum,
Wonder if someone out there can see what my problem is, I enclose two snippets from our email (IMAP) server logs.

    Problem:
    -----------------------
When I click "Check Mail", it doesn't find new mail (well, actually it sometimes finds some emails but not all). It does see the new email and marks it as read, but it doesn't fetch it.

If I instead go into the Settings for the email account and click "Save" (without changing anything), it finds all new emails. See logfile, it finds test email and fetches it.
    ------------------------

Using email server IMail 8.22, SugarCRM Version 5.2.0 (Build 5380), MySQL 5.0.67-community-nt, Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) PHP/5.2.8. All on the same virtual Windows 2003 server.

I've had the same problem with SugarCRM 5.1, different versions.

Grateful for any clues here. Don't really want to change the IMAIL server as this is what our staff are used to and where we have 7-8 years of historical emails saved. This is also the reason I've parked it all on a Windows server (IMAIL is strictly Windows unfortunately). Performance sucks though, might have to create a separate Linux server for SugarCRM + MySQL.

    I'm having this exact issue.

    Is this a known bug?

    An update:

Have now changed over to a dedicated Linux server for CRM + MySQL. Everything works faster, but this problem is still there, plus a few new ones, equally annoying.

I've sort of got used to that

Click Email Settings, choose email account and click SAVE = Check Mail.

It's a bit messy and I really hesitate to put this in production. Have thought about hacking together a link to do this and name it "Check Mail" but not got there yet. If it had been only this bug.....but emails in SugarCRM really sucks. There are just too many bugs.

One thing I've learnt from SugarCRM is: Do NOT update if system works OK. There is a serious risk of many new bugs, even in vital areas. So I'm hoping to find a good-enough version of the system and then stick to that for years. We'll see.....not found one yet.

I am having the same problem...I wish I could stay with 4.5 and avoid the messy 5.XXX versions, but we need to use the portal and we have to upgrade...we have been trying to upgrade for several months...Sugar support is rather weak...even paying the extra $1000.00
