Default Problems customising the "List View" of a page

    Hi,

Does anyone know if there is any way to customise the List View of a page other than with the pre-defined fields in the Module editor? The list view is the view you get when you click on a module tab. I can only drag & drop fields onto the Default column from the Additional & Available columns on the right. I have been asked to add custom fields and even re-name some of the fields but can’t see how this is possible as the custom fields don't display from the list on the left.

It might be worth mentioning I only want to use Sugar to make these changes as I don’t have access to Dreamweaver, or the experience to bring out the notepad and edit the HTML / PHP in the page.

    Hi Deland02,

To edit List vieew page, I think you may need to create custom fields first and then add them to the list view columns.

    HTH.

    Regards,

Thanks for that but I'm using Sugar 5.4, release h & from reading the article in the link, I think there might be an issue with custom fields showing. I have a shed load of custom fields on every module but for some unknown reason they don’t display on the toolbox list. This only happens on the “List View” in each module though.

Check out the screen grabs I attached. You will see the difference in the Opportunities Module (renamed to Pipeline) when you edit the Detail View & the List View.

    Hi,

The custom values are displayed in the available list and not in the tool bar for the list box function. These can be dragged to Default or Available

Malcolm, so they do I was looking a the page for so long yesterday I think my brain had taken up selective sight and I totally missed that. A good nights sleep seams to have cured that one.

The problem I have really is when I change what I want in the "DEFAULT" column, hit “Save & Publish” the changes don’t show through on the live site. I can remove items or add items and I still have the same view as previously. Any suggestions why this could be?

At first all I wanted to do was to remove the “Related to” column but it wouldn’t allow me. I then noticed that after I removed “Related to” from the layout view, saved & published it the sorting arrows at the side of “Related to” disappeared & it doesn’t think it’s a link anymore. If you hover your mouse over it, it stays grey when all the other columns turn red I wonder if this layout is some how damaged?

Hold that last question. I checked the Demo site on Sugar.Com and the “Related to” Colum doesn’t have a sort function.

This has brought a smile to me face knowing what I have actually done does work.

    Thanks again.

In case anyone is having the same problem as me where they edit the List View of a page, publish the settings and the changes don’t show through into the live site here’s what you have to do:

Just click the “Clear” button on the live site. It looks like the changes you make in the module editor are stored until you clear the current view in the live site.
