Problems with a fresh install

I have installed SugarCRM 4.5.1e on an Apache server running PHP 4.4.7 MySQL version 5.0.27

I am trying to add some custom fields into the case module and the server stops responding. If I restart Apache then I can restart the step but still stops responding.

Any Ideas?

An update. I have figured out that it is a browser problem. I am using a Intel MAC. When using Firefox 2.0 it freezes. When using Safari 2.0 it will work. Then if I try to add a custom field while in the design mode the browser will crash. I tried Opera and it works except I can't drag new fields into the layout area.

So to sum it up 3 different problems with 3 different browsers. If I use a combination of the 3 I can actually do my job. :-(

Anyone using MAC to admin Sugar and share this problem?
