My company is looking at making the jump to Sugar CRM and i've been tasked to figure it out/get it all working. So far i've been able to succesfully import contacts and accounts from our Outlook/Exchange database. Now I'm trieing to import all of our notes and have them connect with the contacts that we've already imported into Sugar. This is where i'm having trouble.
I can succesfully import the notes without any problems.
I've succesffully imported and connected Notes to accounts by using the "related to" <accounts> field for outlooks COmpany name. The notes show a link to the account, and they show up in the account profile.
Now i've tried importing and connecting my notes to my actual Contacts and have been unsuccesfull. During a trial run on some small tables i was able to get it to properly link by using the "related to" <contacts> field. With my small test, the notes would show up on the contact profile, and show the contact as Related within the note.
Attempting this with a decent size of data has failed everytime. When using "Related To" <contacts>: (outlooks contacts field) The note properly shows the link to the correct contact, but when i follow the link from the note too the contact - The note does not display on the contacts profile. So its only being connected one way.
I"ve tried using Sugars Contacts field to tie it to the note, but this has never worked, and always results in the creation of a duplicate blank contact that the note is tied to. Does anyone have Any ideas on what i can do to import my notes and have them properly connect to my contacts?
This is frustrating as it seems to Half-Work with Contacts but work completely with Accounts.
