Problems with Install.php wizard

Can anyone offer any pointers as to where I may have gone wrong.

I installed & configured the following seperately:

Apache 2.0.59
PHP 5.2.0
MySQL 5


When I go to http://localhost I see the following error on the setup wizard:

P.S. I have extension=php_mysql.dll enabled in the php.ini

I remember I ran into this not long ago when playing around with PHP5. The way I resolved it was to enable the PHP4 MySQL support in PHP.INI (Sorry, I can't remember which specific settings I changed, but they were the non-MySQLi ones)
