Default Project Task Sets / Project Templates? (3.0.1a)

Is there any way to create a "project template" including a standard set of project tasks? When I duplicate a project, the tasks are not duplicated into the new project. Similarly, a task may be duplicated and assigned to a new project but only individually and not as a "group". It takes some time to re-create the correct project task structure. We have several orders each day for similar products where the task structure and assisgnments involved are always the same.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

I am also trying to do something like this. Have you figured out a way to do it? Also is there a way to turn an opportunity into a project? or at least create a project with the same account, contact and opportunity relationships?

Add us to the list of people who need to know how to set this up. There's also a thread here about it:

    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6582

I'm new to the program, so I really don't knwo where to start. I'm working with an engineering company that runs 7 different tests per project. They may not run all of them on each project though. Each type has it's own set of fields. Who is on the distribution list, who is being billed, the architect, the owner, test results, estimated/actual costs., etc.

Some of the fields are very simlilar throughout the different types, but some are unique to that type of project. What is the best way to customize in order to leave as much code intact as possible and retain good reporting?

    Should I:
    - Create multiple "Project" screens?
    - Create multiple "Task" screens?
    - Something else that I'm totallky missing.

    Any help is most appreciated.

Anyone have a great way to do this? I've seen several threads all about the topic of duplicating/copying projects WITH the tasks attached.

    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7830
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6582
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3955
    same as:
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?p=22020

Has anyone successfully done this? Easy or hard? Is there a module for it? Did the 4.0 upgrade change any of this? Any additional advise/discussion would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, Any progress here with creating a template that allows for the creation of a NEW project and all of the appropriate tasks already created and associated with the NEW project? Thank you.
