Project Template useless?

We have been using Sugar Professional for about 5 years now. We are currently on 5.2. Recently we decided to start using Projects for some migrations we will be doing. I created a Project Template following the user guide, however when in the Project Template details page there is no Duplicate button so I cannot use my template to create other new projects. We have not done very much configuring at all and checking permissions we should not have an issue. Can some tell me where I should look to find out what the issue might be? I have attached a screen shot of the Project Template Details screen so you can better understand.

Yeah, that's odd that you don't have the duplicate button. It's on mine but also try saving as a project. Then you should see a button for "Save As Template" This will create a new template. If I remember right, this is the only way you can get it to save tasks as well.
At least that was an issue on 5.0.

Thanks for replying. I have tried saving as a project, which i can do but then the template is gone so it can only be done one time. The documentation says there should be a duplicate button on the detail screen for the template but as you can see that button does not exist. Thanks for trying. Does anyone have any idea why the button would be missing and how I can go about getting it back. I am sure there must be a code edit I can do.

The template goes away after you save as a project? We have had an issue where the templates disappear but if you go into your user account and reset user defaults they will reappear.

Is there a "Save As Template" button when you are in detail view of a project. If not you probably have larger problems.

There is a save as template button, which I have done, however if I then turn around and save the template as a project the "template" becomes the project and going to the "project templates" area there will not be one. So that will not work. The product we have is supposed to have a duplicate button in the details section of the tempate but it is not there. I am trying to figure out how to address that.

Yes, we have also seen this problem. We are in process of implementing Sugar for the first time and I'm having much trouble with projects, project templates and project tasks. I have setup templates, which have predefined project tasks. We do not have the duplicate button on the template, but we can "Save as Project" however when we do that, the template is converted to a true project and is therefore no longer listed as a project template. To recapture the template, I can go into the project and Save as Template again. This functionality makes no sense at all.

I would like to know if there is a solution for the templates converting like this. Also I need a way to select a project template from an Opportunity subpanel and have it include all the project tasks which were setup on that project template. Is this possible?
