Purpose of Campaign within Leads Module

Hi,

I am confused as to what the purpose of the campaign tab is used for within the Leads Module. Currently if i select a campaign it will add the campaign to the leads module. It will then show the campaign and say message sent/pending. I thought this meant that it was sending at that moment. Then I thought maybe it was putting it into the que, then I thought maybe it just marked into a target list for the campaign. However, nothing happens. Does anyone have any clue how this function is supposed work.

Hi Dan,

The campaign field on the Lead record is a manual relationship that you can create if a lead was generated from a campaign. Doing this will make the Lead appear in the Leads subpanel of the Campaign Results.

If you actually set up a campaign which you send to a lead, then the campaign submodule in the Lead Detail view would auto display the name and status of a campaign that you sent to a lead (it does the same for the Contacts).

Not sure why the Select button is there. Using the select button does not display this lead in the Leads subpanel of the Campaign Results as i described in my first paragraph. You are correct in that Message Sent/Attempted is displayed in the campaign submodule of the lead. However, this lead is not sent the Campaign. I believe that this select button and the Message Sent/Attempted item is a display bug. This should not be available

Hi there

In regard to this thread we are entering leads from a trade show this week and have created a Campaign which we select when we add the lead. We wished to track just these leads by the campaign created for them. Some of the leads already existed from previous trade show so we wished to just add them to this campaign also. They may have belonged to an old trade show (Campaign)

For some reason our sugar instance will not return any results in lead advanced search when you enter the campaign as a search field. ALSO the campaign module does not show the leads who have the campaign field set in their record.

Any ideas what we are doing wrong.
