Queued emails only send 7 at a time and ends prematurely.

Reasonably new to Sugar, its been a lifesaver so far but in the last 2 months had a nightmare trying to send campaign e-mails.

Scheduler is set up and working OK, but when campaign e-mail queue is triggered in any way it spends about 2 minutes sending between 6 and 19 e-mails and then gives up.

It used to work fine, all my settings are OK, nothing I know of has changed and I am using an SMTP server with no restrictions (have tried other servers).

When clicking the manual 'Send Queued Campaign Emails' it thinks for a minute or two and reports an 'Internal Server Error 500'

The server log (Heart Internet virtual server) shows the following: -

I have also attached an excerpt form the SugarCRM log which I set to 'INFO' level output - but bizzarly, no errors are reported.

I have tried the following to absolutely no avail: -

• Checking all campaign and email settings time and time again
• Running all of the sugar repair tasks
• Upgrading to the latest version
• Re-coding the HTML newsletter from scratch to remove all excess tags (now only table/span/p/img/a tags remaining)
• Trying alternative SMTP servers
  [8]Tried resetting PHP settings, changing many .htaccess variables.
• Contacting my hosting provider to check no changes had been made - they told me it is a script error
• trying to look through the PHP script in emailman, but its a little over my head

Please any help or ideas would be massively appreciated, like I said it used to work but just seems to have given up for no good reason!

I'm seeing the same thing. Emails used to send fine.

I'm seeing this with one specific campaign. Also, when sending just a test message, I get a very long delay between pressing the Send button and the page loading. So I think it's choking on the message.

I have debugging on, but there isn't anything all that obvious. It just takes a long time waiting for something... All the DB queries seem to return quite quickly I think. I do notice that there is a part in the logs where it is encoding to UTF-* - but that bit seems to happen quickly...

... I should add that the server is running at 100% CPU when sending. The process taking up the processing power is PHP. I have database on separate server, so it isn't that.

I see the CPU jump to 100%, then nothing happens for 90 seconds (nothing on the logs, etc) then after that time suddenly all the log output happens and the mail is delivered...

I have searched far and wide and the only similar problem I could uncover was one caused by Ms Word generated HTML choking up the message parser within sugar. However I have recoded the message from scratch to no avail.

Nope, no solution at the moment, I think I'm about to make the decision to drop sugar and not use it again, which is a big shame as it showed so much potential! However not at the point yet where I can afford the professional version.

I am having the same problem, except it sends 10 messages, then stops. If I change the smtp server, it is very eratic. I am using SugarCE 6.1.4. If I check the log I get a message about the send address failing, but I have checked everything related to that and can't find the problem. maybe I will try again when 6.2 comes out??

Nope, no solution at the moment, I think I'm about to make the decision to drop sugar and not use it again, which is a big shame as it showed so much potential! However not at the point yet where I can afford the professional version.

I suspect it might've been related to the type of campaign you selected - AFAIK Sugar only lets you send repeat emails to the same address when it's a newsletter. Regular campaigns can't send to the same address - something like to avoid duplicate messages to the same person.

If you found a solution to sending out those last 6-19 emails, would you post it !

Was it related to your cron job for sending campaign emails ? Details are in Admin / Scheduler, at the bottom of the page.
