    Default QuickBooks Web Connector

There was an old discussion thread using Quickbooks Web Connector, but didn't provide any instructions. I have QuickBooks Pro 2004 (can upgrade to latest version if necessary) and I've downloaded the QuickBooks Web Connector into my PC. It ask for adding an application ending in .qwc and I do not know how to create one from SugarCRM 5.1

I would like to explore this option (and all other options) before I absolutely have no choice but to upgrade to SugarCRM Pro.

    Thank you.

I don't know that upgrading to SugarCRM Pro would do you much good on the issue of connecting to QB via the QBWC?

As far as I know, we have the only Sugar based system that connects to QB via QBWC.

There is also the RPS QB integration, but I do not believe it works via QBWC - and of course it is somewhat limited as Sugar Pro only has Quotes to sync with.

I've looked into this quite a bit. It would certainly be possible to do it yourself with the QBWC. But it would take some programming both on the quickbooks side with XML and on the Sugar side by talking to the web connector. There are some options though. Talend Open Studio has done some work connecting the two. I was going to go down that road but we had already started with RPS and their QConnector product.

I can tell you they are a good company to work with. It is true their are only the quotes to work with but we've developed a pretty good system with that and with very little buginess it's working pretty well. RPS can also customize Qconnector to your needs. I've developed and Accounts Payable module in Sugar and RPS will setup Qconnector to transfer that data to Quickbooks. We are using the Sugar Enterprise version and Quickbooks Enterprise 8.

Qconnector is pretty inexpensive and RPS was great getting us going. I'd suggest giving them a call before you spend much time doing things yourself.

Also look at the Talend Open Studio, it offers a lot.
