Hi,
Recurring meetings is a bigger effort than what it really looks like. Our initial estimates doesn't allow it to be targeted for 451. There are many dimensions to it namely , outlook plug in sync , off line client sync , Thunderbird plug in sync . We dont have a target date for this yet but we are diligently trying to scope this in one of our future releases.
Thanks for the patience.

All the sync plugins aside, perhaps it would be worth considering providing the ability to create recurring events within Sugar and look at the syc options in later releases? After searching through the forum on the topic I have noticed it is something that is mentioned repeatidly.
By the way, the more I use Sugar the more I like it... Excellent product!![]()

I would imagine that by taking the sync issues into account, the developers will save a lot of rework that would be required if they simply put out a solution in the short term. Take a regular staff meeting. It should be in the CRM so changes to the record show up on the calendars of all of the involved parties. So how should the CRM handle it? Are the staff meetings daily? Weekly? The 7th and 22nd of each month? The fourth Tuesday of each quarter? Do individual staff meetings have particular themes that should be reflected in the meeting request? How about attaching a formal agenda to each of the items as they occur? How should it be handled when it is moved from Tuesdays at 9am (as it was for 6 months) to Mondays at 3pm (for the forseeable future)? How should cancellations be handled? How should individual meetings be rescheduled be handled? Etc.
If it isn't built to take those possibilities into account, it's going to be very painful to use. And if it isn't built with syncing in mind, then it is going to cause a great deal of pain for all the users that want to sync their calendars, and a great deal of pain for the developers when they do go to map their syncing process to other applications.
Hi,
I agree. It looks simple at the outset but as we delve deeper , the complexity really becomes evident.
That being said , support for recurring meeting is high on our priority list. We will focus on the email improvements first and tackle the calendar issues next. You can expect a simple yet powerful email tool in the next ( 5.0 ) release.
Thanks
Manoj
SugarCRM does not support recurring events natively. But, if you are using Exchange, Riva Integration Server properly synchronises Exchange recurring appointments to SugarCRM (all versions). Any changes to a single appointment instance or to all instances will be properly synched whether the changes are made in SugarCRM or in Outlook. There is logic in Riva that restricts the maximum number of recurring appointment instances to one year or to 12 whichever is larger. You can read more about Riva at:

Riva is also available as a hosted solution:
